Website Submission of Abstracts for the 2010 International Symposium on Spectral Sensing Research (2010 ISSSR)
will be accepted during the period:
Feb. 1, 2009 through Mar. 12, 2010
(see Submission Portal at Bottom)
Submission of abstracts are encouraged that address the Conference Theme and
Technical Objective Statement as articulated on the
Conference Scope
page.
Specifically, leading research and development contributions from the state-of-the-art
in spectroscopic-based sensing science & electronic technology will be a priority, and
the 2010 Technical Program wil be constructed from the following core topic areas:

IMPORTANT NOTE: As this is a U.S. Department of Defense affiliated conference
a straightforward procedure for documenting the public-domain status
of all submitted abstracts is being utilized. Specifically, all authors
are required to submit a fully completed Manuscript Disclosure Authorization form
(see FORM: 2010-ISSSR-MDA
before the abstracts can be published and/or the associated technical content can be presented at the conference.
Authors should upload one (or two) page
abstracts that satisfy the
Conference-Format
All abstracts (oral and poster) are eligible
for the 2010 ISSSR Conference

Conference Proceedings & Special Issue in 2011: The Publications
Committee of the 2010 ISSSR will be accepting full paper versions of the
abstracts (both platform and poster) that are accepted for presentation at the meeting.
These papers will be up to four pages in length and should be submitted during the week
of the conference (details will be provided to the authors before the conference).
In addition, these preceedings papers will be reviewed and the information will be used
to development a proposal for a special issue to the IEEE Sensors Journal where the invited authors
will be given an opportunity to development more comprehensive papers on the subject matter
that was presented at the 2010 ISSSR. We are fortunate to have Dr. John Vig, 2009 IEEE President
and the Founding President of the IEEE Sensors Council (2000-2001) which led to the creation of the IEEE Sensors Journal,
as the lead organizer of this special issue project. It is expected that invitations to this publication project
will go out by September and the publication date will be early 2011.
ATTENDEE-ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: The 2010 Organizers will have some limited
funds to entertain applications for Attendance & Travel Assistance from students and speakers.
Interested parties should complete and return the
Application-Form.
Please note that a compelling need is the primary factor in prioritizing the requests.
RECRUITMENT FROM UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS: In order to increase the participation from underrepresented groups
(minorities, women and persons with disabilities) the 2010 ISSSR has implemented a special Attendee-Assistance
Recruitment Program. Through generous donations supplied by administrators of the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO)
Historically Black Colleges & Universities / Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) Program and the National Science Foundation
(NSF) the conference is able to accept and consider applications from researchers and students that need
financial assistance to attend the conference. Here, the conference is making a special effort to notify attendees from
the following two special groups:
Professors, Graduate Students & Research Associates from HBCU/MI Institutions
Graduate Students within Underrepresented Groups from all U.S. Academic Institutions
Underrepresented (UG) groups should complete and return the
UG-Application-Form.
